Bio
I lived and worked in Portland, Oregon from birth until 2007 when I moved to Taos, New Mexico. High desert country and the Southwest in particular have always drawn me like a magnet. I have finally come to live in a place of natural beauty that fits and feeds my soul-nature. Art and working with horses are my dual passions. I share my time between the two. They balance remarkably well. I graduated from college with a double major in painting and graphic design, then practiced design and illustration for nearly twenty years while sporadically doing personal art. For the past 10 years I have been completely committed to making personal art. My art is always in flux. I desire my work to be fresh, personally challenging and creative, shying away from formula and routine work. My art is not about consistency or style. It is about exploring, learning, and expressing. Always searching for ways to allow paint to express the inner emotional life. Whether landscape, still life, abstract, portraiture, loose or controlled, oil, linocut, collage, found-object, one dimensional or more, it is all about problem solving, expression, and finding my truth from inside out. My work has been represented and included in many group shows by various galleries in Oregon, Washington and Idaho since the mid-1990’s. It is currently represented by Taos Art Online and J. Rollins Art and Framing in Portland, Oregon.
